Beginnings
After more than 30 years working as a registered mental health nurse within the NHS, Serendipity co-founder Sian Cosslett saw a gap in the community.
She believed that people leaving hospital or living with ongoing mental health challenges needed more than just a roof over their heads, they needed a place where they could truly belong, rebuild confidence and rediscover purpose.
In 2011, alongside Director Steve Cosslett, she founded Serendipity Care and Support with a simple but powerful mission, to create homes and services where people are genuinely cared for, understood and supported to live fulfilling lives.
Present and future
What began as one home in Porthcawl has since grown into a trusted local provider with three dedicated divisions, Residential Homes, Supported Living Accommodation and Domiciliary Care.
Across every part of our work, we remain grounded in the same belief that started it all, that recovery and independence are best nurtured through compassion, respect and collaboration.
We work closely with individuals, families, commissioners and health professionals to provide tailored care that meets each person’s unique needs. Our aim is always to empower every individual to make their own choices, embrace their strengths and move forward with confidence in a safe and homely environment.
At Serendipity, we never lose sight of why we began, to make a real difference in people’s lives through genuine care and meaningful support.
