Serendipity Care and Support
Serendipity Care is a specialist residential provider of excellent quality support and rehabilitation with two separate divisions, Bellwave Residential Home and Domiciliary Care.
Bellwave House is a residential home designed for individuals experiencing serious and enduring mental illness, personality disorders and complex needs between the ages of 18-64 years.
Serendipity’s Domiciliary Care provides personal, domestic and additional support to individuals in their own homes.
Serendipity opened in 2011, from an idea generated by Managing Director, Steve Cosslett and Clinical Director/ Registered Mental Health Nurse Sian Penpraze.
After working as a mental health nurse for over 30 years, Sian Penpraze decided she wanted to contribute to an area, she believed, needed the extra support with the idea to provide a safe, secure and homely environment for the individuals.
Starting out as a six-bedded house, Bellwave House has now grown to an eight-bed that boasts en suite facilities, spacious, attractive communal areas and most importantly an inviting, person-centred home.
At Bellwave the staff go far and beyond to provide dedicated care to each individual, supporting each of their specific needs. Individual’s are encouraged to join in activities, learn new skills and integrate into the community.
In 2014 Serendipity opened its domiciliary branch, allowing the company to extend its services into the community for people who need support in their own homes.
Serendipity’s domiciliary care provides a wide range of personal and domestic care services, which are designed to help people who struggle with day-to-day living, and covers many areas including, Bridgend, Porthcawl, North Cornelly, Pen Coed, Brackla and Pyle.
In 2015 Serendipity was awarded the prestigious Investors in People bronze award.
Caring about people is what it’s all about, whether they are our clients or our staff.
Director Steve Cosslett says “We demonstrate our commitment to high performance through exemplary people management. This means a huge amount to all our staff. They know that we take pride in caring for our people, so that they can take the very best care of our clients.”
At Serendipity we make a considerable effort to bring out the best in our staff, helping them to grow and develop as people and encourage their careers. There are plenty of chances to grow at Serendipity with most of our managers starting out as support workers.”
Our philosophy is to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment which empowers the individual to reach their full potential within a comfortable homely setting. We have a strong ethos of providing rehabilitation which will optimise service user development and reintegration into the community, recover lost skills and restore relationships that may have become strained through their illness and/or substance misuse.
We as a company are committed to working with the individual to produce distinct pathways, risk management and care plans as every individual is unique.
Here are the values that we stand for:
- Treating people the way we want to be treated
- Helping those in need
